Shivoham — “I am Shiva.” Two words from the Nirvana Shatakam that strip away every label a person collects in a lifetime and leave only what was there before the labels arrived.
Shivoham Vastra began with a simple frustration. The philosophy of Bharat is some of the most sophisticated thinking humanity has produced, and most of what you can wear it on is either a tourist souvenir or a costume. We wanted the opposite: garments you would reach for on an ordinary Tuesday, that happen to carry something worth carrying.
What we make
Heavyweight tees. 240 GSM combed cotton, bio-washed until the hand feels lived-in from the first wear, cut relaxed with a dropped shoulder and a ribbed collar taped at the shoulder seam so it does not go soft after a month. Printed with water-based discharge inks that sink into the fibre instead of sitting on top of it — no plastic square on your chest, no cracking after the tenth wash.
What we put on them
Every design starts with a text, not a trend. The Adiyogi silhouette, the Tandava, the verses of the Nirvana Shatakam — each piece begins with reading, then sits with an artist, then goes through several rounds of getting it wrong before it earns a print run. If a design cannot survive the question “what does this actually mean?”, it does not ship.
How we work
- Small runs. We would rather sell out than discount our way through a warehouse.
- Made in India. Cotton, knitting, cutting, printing and packing all happen here, with partners we visit.
- Honest pricing. No inflated MRP with a permanent sale sticker over it. The price on the tag is the price.
- Less waste. Recycled kraft mailers, no plastic polybags, and offcuts sent back into the yarn cycle.
Where we are going
